Services Linking Libraries

Leadership and Advocacy

• have a recognized identity as a regional entity for effecting cooperation among libraries of all types
• provide coordinated leadership and representation for member libraries to promote the role of libraries and librarians
• promote the benefits of membership in NCLC
• promote and facilitate the growth of NCLC's member organizations

Resource Sharing

• provide interlibrary loan services including bibliographic verification by accessing a variety of sources, including databases
• provide access to resources through development and maintenance of the regional COMPASS database
• provide direct and mediated support to assist with questions beyond the scope of member libraries collections

Consulting and Continuing Education

• provide consulting services to library and media center personnel
• coordinate opportunities for continuing education to increase library staff's ability to serve library users
• provide access to continuing education that supports staff needs for professional growth
• provide access to the latest information on technology and library issues of the future

Delivery

• administer a comprehensive material delivery system, NE MN Information Delivery System (NEMIDS) that supports the sharing of library materials throughout the NCLC region

Administration

• develop and maintain services to meet identified member needs, explore areas for multitype library cooperation, and work collaboratively with other agencies to meet the needs of its users in a cost-effective way
